First time having Fresh King Crab. There's actually plenty of King Crab in Kodiak, but its all been processed in the cannery before sold. Processing involves cooking the crab in brine and freezing. Gotta say Fresh King Crab (like Fresh off the boat Salmon) is a whole different experienc.
