Kodiak Fun

Here's Alex, the buyer of the goodies, inspecting one of the smaller rockets. She's the advisor for most of the Fish Tech students. A Brazilian nutter if you ask me... she launched gigantic fireworks from between her thumb and index fingers while turning her head away to avoid the back blast. Posted by Picasa

One of the Fish Tech professors bought over $250 worth of fireworks to help celebrate the New Year. Posted by Picasa

New Year's Eve on Kodiak hanging with the Fish Tech crowd again. Karin's giving Amid his first vibrating frog massage. Posted by Picasa

Sunset on the way home from the airport after my flight was cancelled due to weather. It turned out okay, though, because I didn't have to spend the night in Seattles airport as was the original plan. Instead I got to sleep in my own bed and ended up watching "Grizzly Man"... a MUST see if you want to see some Kodiak Celebrities in action. Or if you have the need to gain new respect for Alaskan Bears. Posted by Picasa

Here's the rest of the band. I heard that the party went on 'til 5am. Karina and I, being weak in our partying spirt, took off around midnight. Posted by Picasa

There she is! Posted by Picasa

I guess our dance party sparked something in us, because we ended up going to a friends house the next night for a rock-n-roll, blues, jazz jam party in the garage of one of our students. (He's playing the madolin in the background, and you'll see his wife shaking her thing in the foreground in the next picture.) Posted by Picasa

The remaining few to close out the bar. Actually, Karina and I left around midnight, and the rest of the gang stuck around for a few more drinks and jammin' to the reggae beat. Posted by Picasa

You know its a good night when the lights are low, the dance floor is moving, and things get the slightest bit blurry. Posted by Picasa

Some of our students bustin' out their groovin' moves. Check out that hardwood floor. Posted by Picasa

At the Rendezvous for our party night. Look how happy she is to finally get to social dance again. (you should see my smile that we got to do it at a nice bar.) Posted by Picasa

We're trying to start up a little social dancing scene here on Kodiak. This is another one of Karina's functional masterpieces. The Rendezvous is a wonderfully intimate bar with great hardwood floors. Posted by Picasa

See the little lean/dip we taught them last class? Posted by Picasa

Last Salsa Class. This Class was overflowing the first day. 90 people. It became a lot more manageable by the end. We had like 11 extra women, and anticipated having to limit the number of followers, but half of them decided to lead, so it all worked out.  Posted by Picasa

The last survivors of the Swing Class. Started out with 45, but we figured we end up with about half that number by the end. Posted by Picasa

Our very Last Swing class. They're figuring out how to do side by side Charleston. Posted by Picasa

Karina's not much for the cold as you can see. But when we finally get out she has a good time. We saw lots of deer, cranberry bushes, and karina's favorite.... moss. Posted by Picasa

There are the 3 Sisters mountains and Monashka bay. White Sands beach is at the base of the 3 Sisters. Posted by Picasa

We're up on Pilar point which overlooks the city. Karina is pointing to our house. Can you see it? Its right at the tip of her finger.Posted by Picasa
